I have a Windows 2003 computer network consisting of a Domain Controller w/IIS, Exchange and a File server with XP, Vista and Win7 clients connected by 10/100 Mbps Ethernet router/hub with two shared printers, scanner and digital camera. Also working on virtual machines using Virtual PC and Server 2008 Hyper-V, and dual booting Linux on my lab computer, (ESXi won’t load.)

Over nine years of data center support for enterprise clients; who had 30+ servers utilizing HA clusters, application servers and load balanced web servers. I am experienced with trouble shooting website outages on load balanced servers, cluster and database administration, and supporting Exchange and SharePoint.  I am self-motivated and detail oriented in the working environment with strong analytical and logistic abilities.            Maintain and support the servers and network of the Family Polka Program's website. Server roles include: Active Directory (Domain Controller), Exchange, IIS, SQL and a file server. The network is locked down, giving only read access to the websites and the FTP site; which also uses IP restrictions to keep the hackers out.  

 

Veritas NetBackup and Recovery Administrator

        Contractor at Social Security Administration supporting seven remote sites around the country. Monitor daily backups and troubleshoot any failures or issues. Track and monitor shipping of tapes between the sites and Iron Mountain. Resolved several chronic backup failures due to a tech refresh, and more that were outside of my SOW. Identified and resolved issues of excessive tape usage, logging and disk space usage. This position requires an active Public Trust Certificate.

Internet Systems Administrator - Windows Technical Operations

           Digex was bought out by WorldCom/MCI in 2004, which was then absorbed by Verizon Business in 2005; this is continued employment. Duties include Tier II support of Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008 servers, with some legacy NT boxes. Responsibilities include troubleshooting problems with IIS, DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, server administration, Active Directory, SQL, Exchange and application support for WebTrends, pcAnywhere and Rockliffe. Build, configure, rack and cable servers in the farm. Support of HA database clusters for SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint; using either local external storage arrays (HP MSA1500/30) or SANs (3Par & Clariions). Identify hardware failures and replace CPUs, RAM and hard drives as needed. Supported virtual machines using VMware on ESX servers. Add/remove servers from Veritas NetBackup, troubleshoot failed backups and performed restores. Server administration in the farms was done via Citrix gateway servers using RSA authentication. Other duties included doing scheduled maintenance of upgrading hardware/software and patching servers, checking the servers in the farm for any fault lights and investigating the cause of any outages. This position was outsourced to India.

           Network and Internet support for managed web hosting on 1,500 servers located in 6 data centers around the world. Troubleshooting skills include: basic network administration, IIS configuration, DNS setup and modifications, firewall rulesets, local and distributed director, connectivity, and supporting applications. Responsible for independent support of Tier 1 issues: reboots, start/stop services, reset Terminal Service and pcAnywhere connections, and administrative server maintenance. Daily follow up with clients to ensure resolution of all issues. Provide support to Account Managers, Unix and Windows technicians, and other departments. This position is also responsible for updating client information and taking orders for memory/hard drive upgrades, IP addresses, VeriSign certificates and monitoring.
